The Director Interconnection Strategy and Development is responsible for Interxion’s sales and marketing strategy and thought leadership within the Connectivity segment. You are responsible for identifying and developing the relationships with a targeted set of strategic “magnetic” customers in the connectivity segment (International, Local Carriers, ISP’s, CDNs, MNO’s, and Internet Exchanges), and working with sales to bring their capabilities and platforms into the Interxion datacenters, as the catalyst from which to grow our Connectivity Hubs. In this role you are also responsible for marketing the Connectivity Hub capability both internally and externally to maximize awareness and generate new business opportunities.

Location: Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Paris

What you’ll need

>10 years work experience and track record of delivering results in either a business development, marketing or sales role within the Connectivity industry

Fluent in English both written and spoken, any other European languages (French or German) would be advantageous but are not essential.

MBA or University Degree in business studies, or marketing or another relevant discipline

Intimate understanding of the Connectivity industry: language, problems, strategies, technology, market and competitive trends.

You have access to a network of senior contacts within groups including – industry experts, existing customers, target companies, partners.

Strong experience in Business development, Sales and Marketing (Including market entry), Channel sales, and solution selling in the connectivity sector.

Specific experience in training and developing global sales organizations and in working with strategic account programs.

Proven ability to create and articulate clear value propositions and negotiate complex commercial agreements in a multinational setting

Technical Knowledge of Connectivity solutions (Probably from a Technical / Product background)

Strong ability to effectively build relationships both externally and internally, at all levels up to and including C Level

Strong Leadership skills and ability to influence senior executives both internally and externally

Highly developed communication and presentation skills, verbal and written

Enthusiastic in developing understanding and knowledge of Datacenter industry
